Like I mentioned on plurk, this plot is completely optional as all plots on the ship will forever be. If you don't want to participate or if some of your characters aren't participating, they will go on about life as if nothing has happened at least for this first part of the plot. The answers are located on an island in this universe, but in order to get to the island, the ship has to set course for it and be going a certain speed.

My idea is that it will take three small teams of characters. I can't decide if this should be voluntary for the characters or if they should simply appear in their teams to learn they've been signed up if anyone has a preference let me know. It could also be a combo so some people sign up voluntarily and others just show up. :')

Team 1 This team will actually be taking a little ship from the cruise ship toward a castle in the sea, which has the navigational numbers they need in it. The castle will have obstacles, riddles, etc. This team will be have the most involved stuff to do. I'd love to tie obstacles into the exact abilities/strengths of those in the team so everyone can contribute to getting to the end result. Clark will be guiding this team.

Once they get these coordinates, they'll return to the cruise ship and phone Team 2 to let them know.

Team 2 This team will be responsible for getting into the bridge where the navigation coordinates can be set. They'll be locks and seals in the way as well as figuring out how the heck to set in the navigation coordinates once they get to the bridge. Again, I'd like to tie obstacles into the skill sets of those who end up being in this team so that everyone can contribute. This team will have a unique guide.

Team 3 The ship is powered by steam. :') In order to make it go the right speed to get there, team 3 will have to find magic logs that have the power to make it go faster than it currently is going and add it to the fire that is boiling the water. This will increase the speed of the giant cruise ship. Again, I'd like obstacles that tie into the skill sets of those who end up on the team so that everyone can contribute. This team will also have a unique guide.

You can volunteer one character for each team or no characters or whatever you like!

The end result of this plot is that the ship will kind of crash land into the island where the answers are at. It is a very big island, which will give us a semi-setting change with an island to explore and a boat to try to fix if characters want to do either of those things. The ship would still work the same with the door and everyone having a room on the ship, but it would be stationary and give the characters a place to go to be on land, and it would be safe to stay in just y'know crashed up on the island. We can later decide whatever we want to be on the island like an Old West Ghost Town, unicorns, idk etc. on top of the answers which are definitely at that island. There are limitless possibilities as always :').

The crash will happen at a set date even if the teams are still threading out so no one feels pressured to finish or anything since this is a place of no pressure, okay? 8-) I'm thinking late October or November even.

I'll set up comments below if ya'll want to sign a character up for a team. There's time still if you're undecided.

BECAUSE THERE SHOULD BE PARTIES.

ANYWAY.

Because Carol Lockwood loves a good party, and she gets bored on the boat (and because I threatened that I would when I first added her to the cast list), she periodically decides to throw a bash or two to liven things up. In the interest of keeping things interesting and getting everyone's input PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS POST WITH YOUR PARTY SUGGESTIONS.

I've already decided on the first party which will be going up this weekend for Labor Day shenanigans, but periodically I'll come to this post, snag one of the themes and put together a party post.

BE AWARE THOUGH that just because Carol says there's a party doesn't mean the boat won't have some shenanigans in there too. Just saying. >.> You can suggest the shenanigans with your theme suggestions, or you can take the risk and leave it to me, which really is the more dangerous option.

READY SET GO. Comments are screened so there can be surprises.

Places/People/Notes on the Ship

1) Add something cool about the ship in one of your threads? Whether it's a store, a room, a NPC, a random ghost that places the saxophone at midnight every night, or anything else (there are no limits, it is a magic, ghost cruise ship) If you want, you can make a comment with it here.

2) Wanting to do something cool with your character on the ship but you're out of ideas? Check the comments here to see what stuff others have created/added to it!

Add characters by replying with their canon under the corresponding letter and then adding the character name beneath that. If the canon is already there, just add your character to it. Use the journal you'll use for them. :)

What even is this?

Voyagers is a private, invite only musebox with no rules, no obligations, no responsibilities, no AC. It will hopefully have a community feel where you can get whatever your heart desires out of it. No, seriously! Anything. Want random ass, unexpected CR? Get it! Want to hook up your character with someone? Get it! Want to build strong CR/try out character growth/destruction? Want a place to play a char for a day and never visit that char again? GET IT!! etc. etc. etc.

The idea for the mechanics of this place was borrowed shamelessly from outsideinn which borrowed theirs from millwaysbar which grabbed theirs from a piece of fiction. I FORGET WHICH. The concept is basically that there is a place (inn, bar, etc) that is in between universes, which people can come to chill at together or have great plots or do whatever the fuck you want.

Currently, Voyagers is set on a cruise ship, which travels through an endless ocean and has no destination. On the main deck, there is The Door. It is just chilling at the front of the cruise ship, thinking it is King of the World (WOOO!). Characters come through this door from wherever they were before. If you don't feel like playing out the WHERE AM I?-ness of it, you can pretend like they've been here before. There are NPCs in cruise ship uniforms who will give characters a brief rundown of: "You're in a place between universes! Enjoy the cocktails!" If you try to punch one of them, your fist will go through them. Maybe they're ghosts or holograms! Who knows?

The Door can be locked for that specific character for as long as you want in case they're the type to try to get back immediately. Later, the door can be unlocked, and they can walk back into whatever life they come from. A mysterious force can also drag them back through the door when you want them to get on with their lives if they're the type to be reluctant to return to whatever universe they came from. They can come and go as much as you want them. It is up to you if the character remembers their time in Voyagers while they're not here. Will it affect things back home? Do they take the random advice they got over drinks at the bar? Do they try to take someone home with them and will it work? That is up to you! 8) When the character comes back though, they will remember the CR that they made in Voyagers and get to develop it, grow it, etc.

Characters will have a room w/ their name indented into it. The door will open only for them if it's closed though once the door is open all bets are off. It is up to you whether they are in a First Class room or a regular passenger room though I especially recommend saddling those who don't deserve Nice Things with a regular room. ;)

Anything about the cruise ship that you want to be a thing? It's a thing. This is all of your sandboxes too. While I won't have more of a setting post than this, I might put up a post for people to comment on with little details that they've added to the ship. Like for instance, is there a saxophone player who is also a ghost that gives amazing tunes at midnight on the deck? Is the pool always a little too cold? Is there a comedy show every Thursday which is laughably terrible? Create your own NPCs. Create your own anything!
